Using the five senses to both recognize and treat physical pain is an innovative way to improve quality of life for older adults. This session will explore the connection between the senses and physical pain and what we need to know about enhancing comfort.

For people living with dementia the five senses provide a powerful connection between the brain and the world around them. As family and professional care partners, we can better understand the person living with dementia using their sensory experiences. This session will offer interactive personalized approaches to create meaningful engagement opportunities.
